WHY CANDLES?

We didn’t start out as candle makers.

For years, we designed playful, offbeat objects—but scent was always in the background.

As a kid, I was drawn to essential oils. I even studied chemical engineering because I wanted to work with scent somehow.
I didn’t have a clear idea of what that would look like—and eventually, life took over and I forgot all about it.

Then, during the pandemic, I made my first candle.
That early fascination came back.
And this time, I followed it.

Now, we make candles. But the design is still at the core of our work.

Everything still starts with form and color—just as it did when we were creating objects. Only now, the design carries through scent and light, turning each piece into a multi-sensory experience.

It’s a quieter kind of design—but possibly our most complete work yet.
