ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Born in SIoux Lookout, ON, John Rombough was adopted and raised in Prince Edward Island. In his early 20s, he reconnected with his Dene roots in Lutsel K’e, NT, marking the beginning of his journey as a Denesuline Ancestral artist.
His art, characterized by bold black lines and vibrant colors, captures the spiritual connection between the Dene people and the natural world. Each painting tells a unique story, reflecting landscapes and ancestral ties, all created with a deep sense of freedom and connection to the land.
Every painting John creates is a bridge - a way to connect with the past, understand the present, and inspire the future. His work is more than just art; it is a celebration of culture, identity and the spirit that flows through all of us.
